Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the increasing risk of the distribution of fruit and vegetables in this country being adversely affected by the shortage of tyres for the road vehicles used in connection with distribution and, in particular, the shortage of tyres 34 × 7; and what special priority he will give to filling the needs of the fruit and vegetable distribution trade in this connection.
§ Sir S. CrippsThere should be a steady improvement from now on in supplies of tyres including 34 × 7 for commercial vehicles, and I hope that this will avoid the inconveniences suggested.
