§ 45. Brigadier Lowasked the Minister of Defence whether he intends that British personnel should continue to serve in the Burma fighting services in future, in view of the fact that the Government of Burma has invited Burmese personnel, trained during the war in the Japanese military academy, to apply for commissions in the Burmese Army.
§ Mr. Arthur GreenwoodI have been asked to reply. The question of service by British personnel in the Burma forces in future is not one which His Majesty's 49W Government alone can decide. It will be among the matters to be discussed in connection with the transfer of power in Burma.
