HC Deb 02 July 1947 vol 439 c156W
Mrs. Manning

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has considered the representations of the Polish Government regarding the assumption by M. Auguste Zaleski, resident in this country, of the title of President of Poland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mayhew

Yes. His Majesty's Government do not recognise Monsieur Zaleski's claim to be regarded as President of Poland, nor has his self-styled Government any existence in their eyes. Monsieur Zaleski continues to reside here as a private citizen subject to our laws.
