§ 69. Mr. Thornton-Kemsleyasked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that as a result of the rationing of oatmeal orders to the mills have fallen off by more than 50 per cent. in the last few weeks and that 25 mills in Aberdeenshire alone are now standing idle; and whether, to ensure that the large supplies of oatmeal now available at the mills are distributed to the public, he will consider either withdrawing oatmeal from the points rationing scheme or reducing the number of points required per pound.
§ Mr. StracheyThis is obviously an unsatisfactory position and I am going into the matter carefully to decide on the best methods of dealing with it.
