§ 80. Mr. Gallacherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many petitions he has received in connection with the threatened execution of two Negro boys in Mississippi; and what answer he has made to the petitioners.
Mr. McNeilMy right hon. Friend has received 10 petitions, including five letters from hon. Members of this House. He has answered that this is a matter of United States domestic policy in which it would not be proper for His Majesty's Government to intervene, and further that the sentence passed by the Mississippi Court is now under review by the United States Supreme Court, which is the highest judicial tribunal in that country.
