asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of new and second-hand private motor cars, respectively, imported into the United Kingdom from Northern Ireland during the year 1946.

As my hon. Friend is aware, Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, and the question of imports does not arise.

During 1946, one new and 47 used motor cars were imported into the United Kingdom from Eire.
