HC Deb 20 February 1947 vol 433 c221W
Mr. Pickthorn

asked the Minister of Supply, how many complaints have been brought to his notice of inefficient or unsafe electrical appliances manufactured by firms to which raw materials have been allotted by his Department; and how the prices of such appliances have been fixed.

Mr. Woodburn

The Ministry of Supply has no control over the design and quality of these appliances nor over their prices, which are, however, subject to the provision of the Goods and Services (Price Control) Acts, 1939–43, administered by the Board of Trade.
