§ Mr. Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that difficulties are being experienced by airmen in a few units in getting adequate leave to attend examinations for entry to the Civil Service; and, in view of the special facilities made available to Services candidates by the Government, if he will issue precise instructions to commanding officers.
§ Mr. P. Noel-BakerSpecial instructions are already in force laying down that every facility should be given to officers or airmen to attend Civil Service examinations. I should be grateful if my hon. Friend would give me details of the difficulties he has in mind, so that I can consider the matter further.
