HC Deb 11 February 1947 vol 433 c34W
Mr. Hastings

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that certain of the troops stationed at Catterick Camp are compelled to parade twice daily without overcoats even during the present inclement weather; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

Mr. Bellenger

On many parades, such as most of those indoors or for physical training or drill, greatcoats are not desirable. No general orders have been issued in Catterick that greatcoats should not be worn for parades other than of the types mentioned and in the absence of particulars of the unit and parades concerned I cannot usefully make further inquiries.
