asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will approach the French Government to secure the return to Germany of prisoners of war held by France.

Mr. McNeil

His Majesty's Government are well aware of the importance of this question and are considering whether an approach can be made to the French Government with a view to their granting to those prisoners of war held by them who were originally captured by British Forces, similar conditions as regards repatriation to those which have been decided upon for German prisoners of war in the United Kingdom.
