asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will now supply the figures of the casualty rate in Palestine during 1946, divided into the different categories, of which he was informed on 21st January.

The total casualties in 1946 from Jewish terrorism, Arab terrorism, Arab-Jewish clashes, incidents arising out of illegal immigration, resistance to arms searches, etc., were 212 killed and 428 wounded. Of the killed, 45 were members of His Majesty's Forces, 29 were members of the Palestine Police Force and 138 were civilians. Of the civilians killed, 14 were British, including two British Jews, 60 were Arabs, 63 Jews and there was one other. Of these, 26 Jews were armed. Of the wounded, 122 were members of His Majesty's Forces, 43 were members of the Palestine Police Force and 263 were civilians. Of the civilians wounded, five were British, 118 were Arabs, 130 were Jews and there were 10 others. Of the civilian wounded one Arab and 29 Jews were armed.
