HC Deb 04 February 1947 vol 432 cc332-3W
116. Mr. Rees-Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the value and nature of Japan's exports and imports for the year 1946.

Mr. Mayhew

It is not yet possible to give figures for the total value of Japanese imports and exports for the year 1946 since the price of some of the principle items, for example raw silk, remains to be determined. The principal imports were foodstuffs and raw materials. Exports were mainly indigenous products such as raw silk, coal and tea.
