§ Mr. H. Macmillanasked the Minister of Health to what extent properties on Crown land are exempt from the provisions of the Rent Restriction Acts; and what steps it is proposed to take to ensure that the principles of the Rent Restriction Acts are nevertheless applied to such cases.
§ Mr. BevanThe Courts have decided that property on Crown land is not subject to these Acts and the point has been noted for consideration when legislation to amend the Acts can be introduced. There is, however, no early prospect of legislation and meantime I am prepared to authorise the exercise of requisitioning powers in order to avoid the creation of hardship.
