§ Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Health how many deaths have occurred in this country following a blood transfusion; and whether, in all cases, the blood or donors is examined and passed as healthy before it is treated for use.
§ Mr. BevanThe answer to the first part is not known. On the second, while there can be no absolute guarantee from tests, all possible precautions are taken by testing every sample of blood before transfusion and by questioning donors about their health.
