HC Deb 04 August 1947 vol 441 cc113-4W
79. Mr. Spence

asked the Minister of Food what proportions of fresh and frozen meat, respectively, have been issued during the past six months for domestic and catering consumption in Aberdeenshire and Banffshire; and whether this proportion is maintained in the issues to every butcher in the area.

Dr. Summerskill

Ignoring canned corned meat all butchers have in the same proportion, the proportions of fresh and frozen carcase meat respectively issued during the six months ended 25th July for domestic and catering consumption in Aberdeenshire and Banffshire were 67 per cent. and 33 per cent. I am satisfied that all butchers in the counties of Aberdeen and Banff have had as fair a distribution of home killed and imported meat as is reasonably possible.
