§ 129. Major Beamishasked the Minister of Works when No. 5 Old Palace Yard is to be demolished; when the statue of King George V will be placed in position by Westminster Abbey; and by what ceremony the unveiling of this statue will be accompanied.
§ Mr. DurbinNo. 5, Old Palace Yard, will not be demolished until alternative accommodation can be provided for those Members who use it for office purposes. I am unable to name any date for this at present.
I understand that the King George V National Memorial Committee hope to place the statue in its final position some time this year, but that no decision has yet been reached on the details of the unveiling ceremony.
