§ Mr. TomlinsonThere were in January, 1946, 3,708 classes in primary schools and 115 in secondary schools with more than 50 pupils. The analysis of the figures for January, 1947, has not yet been completed, but a preliminary examination indicates that the number of classes over 50 at that date had fallen to about 2,000.
