§ LORD BARNBYasked His Majesty's Government whether, in connexion with the reply given on March 25, they are now prepared, when publishing the promised statistics of wool top production and consumption, to take steps to publish simultaneously figures of total stocks of wool tops.
§ LORD CHORLEYI regret that, as indicated in the answer given to my noble friend on March 25, no recent particulars of stocks of wool tops are available. The Government propose to accept a recommendation made in the report of the Wool Working Party, shortly to be published, that a census of stocks of tops should be taken at any rate once a year, and it will be necessary to consider what will be the most convenient date for this purpose.
House adjourned at ten minutes before seven o'clock.
