HC Deb 17 April 1947 vol 436 c46W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Works if he is aware that promises repeatedly given in Parliamentary answers by his Department to restore the premises of the new public library, Colchester, now occupied by the Manpower Board and the fuel office have been broken, with damage to educational institutions in the county; and if he will rectify the position.

Mr. Key

The Manpower Board will be moved out of the premises in the next few days and the space they occupy will be released. I had hoped that it would be possible to move the food office to the old Public Library, but the Colchester Town Council prefer the existing arrangements to continue until other accommodation can be provided.
