HL Deb 17 April 1947 vol 146 cc1105-6WA
LORD BARNBY

asked His Majesty's Government whether, in view of the large stake of the British taxpayer in the wool Stocks now being administered by the Joint Organization, and in reference to a reply given on March 25, they now intend to arrange for publication of figures of total bale disposals from July 1, 1946, to March 31, 1947 together with financial amount of receipts above initial cost accruing to the Treasury.

LORD CHORLEY

I understand that the Joint Organization will be publishing during the next few days a statement of disposals up to January 31, 1947, which has been presented to the Consultative Committee to that: body. The sum due from the Joint Organization to the United Kingdom Government in respect of disposals in the wool year 1946–47, in accordance with the Financial Plan agreed by the four Governments and set out in Command Paper 6855, cannot be given until after the end of the trading year to June 30, 1947.
