asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he proposes retaining the W.L.A. as now organised until at least the end of 1948.

The future of the Women's Land Army is now under consideration, and I hope to be able to make a statement shortly. Meanwhile, my expectation is that the present organisation will be kept in being until after the 1948 harvest.
