HC Deb 03 April 1947 vol 435 c378W
Mr. Lambert

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that there is a shortage of household soap at Chagford; and if he will take steps to increase the supply.

Mr. Strachey

I am informed that the total supply of soap at Chagford is sufficient to meet the ration but that there has recently been a shortage of household bar soap. We cannot guarantee that soaps of all descriptions will always be available, owing to changes in demand, but every effort will be made to see that the public get the type of soap they require.
