HC Deb 03 April 1947 vol 435 cc364-5W
Mr. Niall Macpherson

asked the Secretary of State for War what are the current periods of primary training and of subsequent corps training for R.A., R.E., Royal Signals, Infantry, R.A.C., R.A.S.C., R.A.M.C., R.A.O.C. and R.E.M.E.

Mr. Bellenger

The period of primary training for all arms is six weeks. The time spent on corps training varies greatly, not only by arms, but also by trades, of which there are a very large number. As an example, corps training in the infantry takes To weeks.
