§ Captain Bullockasked the Minister of Food whether he is aware of the position with regard to the supply of potatoes in the Liverpool area; and what steps he proposes to take to relieve the position there in the near future.
§ Mr. StracheyI am afraid that there has been a shortage of potatoes in Liverpool as elsewhere, because of the dislocation of lifting and transport by the, severe weather. My Department made special efforts to meet the situation during the crisis and supplies have now greatly improved.
