asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has considered proposals for the establishment of a free port in Trinidad; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Creech Jones

A proposal was referred to the Governor of Trinidad last year. A number of considerations are involved which cannot yet be accurately weighed, and I do not expect any early decision.
