asked the Minister of Transport the number of special trains run for each Government Department during the most recent convenient statistical period; and the number of passenger-miles and ton-miles so provided for each Department.

The following are the particulars of special passenger and freight trains run for Government Departments during the week commencing 6th October:

With the exception of a few key posts which are being filled immediately, recruitment for the administration of the National Insurance Scheme has not yet started and will not start for some time. Due notice, and necessary particulars, will be given to intending applicants, and no good purpose would be served by their applying now. As in the case of the key posts I have mentioned, new entrants into established posts in the Ministry, whether from approved societies or elsewhere, will be recruited through the Civil Service Commission.
