HC Deb 24 October 1946 vol 428 c2W
24. Mr. Mathers

asked the Minister of Education whether she is aware of the desire of retired teachers to have their superannuation payments made monthly instead of quarterly as at present; and whether she will cause the necessary alteration to be made as from the begining of 1947.

Miss Wilkinson

I am not aware that any material number of retired teachers desire this. The change would entail an increase in administrative costs and could only be effected by legislation to amend the Teachers (Superannuation) Act, 1925. I do not think there is sufficient ground for altering the present arrangements.
