HC Deb 24 October 1946 vol 428 c13W
Sir W. Smithers

asked the Minister of National Insurance if he will now give details of the number of superficial feet of office accommodation required for the administration of his Department; and where the offices are located.

Mr. J. Griffiths

The plans for accommodation for my Department include provision for a headquarters office in London, a central office at Newcastle, central offices in Edinburgh and Cardiff and regional offices in the usual regional centres in England. In addition local offices will be set up, generally, in the same towns as the Ministry of Labour Employment Exchanges and Employment Offices. I am not at present in a position to give detailed information about the total floor space required.
