Mr. Creech JonesI expect shortly to make a statement on the future marketing arrangements for West African cocoa. As regards bananas, future plans for marketing the Jamaica crop are under active consideration with the Governor and my right hon. Friend the Minister of Food. In the Cameroons, arrangements for marketing bananas will form part of the plans for development of the plantations which are in course of preparation and are referred to in the reply I am giving today to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Dudley (Colonel Wigg).
§ Dr. Santo Jegerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what his decision is regarding' the future of the cocoa marketing scheme.
Mr. Creech JonesThis matter has been receiving my attention and I hope that shortly I shall be able to make a statement.
