§ Mr. Isaacs2,300 stoppages of work arising out of industrial disputes have been reported to my Department as having occurred during the 12 months ended 30th September, 1946. Information is not available as to the number of man-hours lost in these stoppages, but it is estimated that they resulted in an aggregate loss of approximately 3,140,000 man-days. The information available does not permit a distinction to be made between official and unofficial stoppages.
