Mr. Thornton-Kemsleyasked the Minister of Food what percentage of the 1945 Scottish crop of "Golden Wonder" ware potatoes was sold for consumption in their natural form and what percentage was purchased by his Department for processing; and whether ware of this variety, grown this year, will be available for human consumption in its natural form.
§ Mr. StracheyMy Department bought approximately 25 per cent. of the 1945 production of "Golden Wonder" ware in Scotland for processing. This season we are not buying any "Golden Wonder" for processing but the processing company may buy supplies in the open market.
