§ 59. Sir P. Macdonald
asked the Minister of Food whether, in order to avoid the possibility of injury to health caused by prolonged standing in queues, 58W he will extend to women for a limited period after the birth of a child the shopping queue priority now granted to expectant mothers up to the time of the child's birth
§ Mr. Strachey
Queue priority is now given only to expectant mothers. It has no legal force and I am grateful to the trades and the public for the recognition they have accorded to it. I am afraid that it is hardly practicable to extend it.
