§ Mr. EdeThe primary purpose of the Forensic Science Laboratories, which are maintained at the cost of police funds, is to assist the police in the investigation of crime. It is, however, the recognised principle that the results of any examination by a forensic science laboratory should be made available to the defence by the prosecution where the examination throws any light on the case.
