§ 110. Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that a local authority had some plans for houses returned by his Department and that one of the reasons given for the rejection was that the suggested concrete floors must be wood; that on the same day the same local authority received an order to reduce the allowance of timber per house form 2½ to 1½ standards; and if he will take steps to avoid these contradictory orders which impede the erection of houses, especially in heavily-bombed areas.
§ Mr. BevanI am not aware of any such occurrence but if the hon. Member will give me details. I will have inquiries made.
