§ Mr. Battleyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has considered 274W a report, dated 15th October, 1946, from members of the police force at the Water Police Station, Kowloon, Hong Kong, on the police service conditions prevailing there, a copy of which has been sent to him; and what steps he proposes to take to inquire into the truth of the statements made in the report and to remedy the conditions disclosed therein.
Mr. Creech JonesI have received a letter, dated 29th September, direct from certain members of the force as from the Water Police Station, Kowloon, concerning their accommodation, and I have referred it to the Governor of Hong Kong for a report. I will communicate with my hon. Friend as soon as the report is received.
