§ 70. Mr. C. S. Taylorasked the Minister of Food to what extent the export of wheat and other cereals from this country to European countries has affected bread-rationing in this country.
§ Mr. StracheyWith the exception of an unshipped balance of about 25,000 tons, no grain has been exported from this country to any European country for relief purposes since the introduction of bread rationing. But if the hon. Member has in mind the question of whether such shipments were a factor in making it necessary to introduce bread rationing, I will refer the hon. Member to the statement I made on this subject during the Debate on bread rationing on 3rd July last.
76. Major Lloydasked the Minister of Food whether men obtaining extra bread rations because of their occupation continue to receive this extra ration while engaged in an unofficial strike.
§ Mr. StracheyYes, Sir.
