HC Deb 04 November 1946 vol 428 cc192-3W
126. Mr. D. Jones

asked the Minister of Health whether he will cause to be published a list of those public assistance, approved school and voluntary authorities, against whom the Curtis Committee made no complaints of their treatment of children committed to their care, in view of the severe criticism levelled against a small number of authorities in the report of the Curtis Committee.

Mr. Key

No, Sir. This would be tantamount to publishing the names of those authorities which had been criticised.

128. Mrs. Paton

asked the Minister of Education if, in view of the findings of the Curtis Committee, she will make representations in the appropriate quarters to bring all homeless or deprived children under the direct control of her Department on a national basis.

Mr. Hardman

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for East Islington (Mr. E. Fletcher) on 31st October.
