Graham-Littleasked the Minister of Education what proportion of teachers in the secondary schools, before the passage of the Education Act, 1944, were university graduates; and what is the proportion since 1st April, 1945, up to date, of graduate teachers in the schools now classified as secondary.
§ Miss WilkinsonThe latest available figures relate to 1938, when rather under 80 per cent. of the teachers in grant-aided secondary grammar schools were graduates. Figures showing the present position in all types of secondary schools will be available in a few months.
