HC Deb 09 May 1946 vol 422 c123W
82. Mr. C. S. Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will reconsider the decision to sell to former members o the W.L.A. part of their uniform if they are continuing with land work and allow them to retain it free of charge.

Mr. Collick:

Women who are released from the Women's Land Army are en titled to retain free of charge, certain items of clothing. My right hon. Friend regrets that he does not feel able to extend the list of free issues; but, as the hon Member is aware, arrangements have been made to enable those women who intend staying on in agriculture after leaving the Land Army to buy certain additional items at low rates.
