asked the Minister of Labour whether he will prohibit night baking as a contribution towards the economy of food in the present emergency.

Mr. Isaacs:

No, Sir. The question of night baking is at present receiving consideration by representatives of employers' and workpeople's organisations in the baking industry. I have no doubt that all relevant factors will be taken into account in the course of their deliberations and, as I have indicated in previous replies, the best way of solving this difficult question is for a mutually acceptable settlement to be reached.
