§ 62. Mr. Collinsasked the Minister of Food if he is aware that district food executive officers have been instructecd to forward correspondence from Members, of Parliament to divisional headquarters; and if he will explain the reason for this instruction.
§ Sir B. Smith:Yes, Sir. This instruction applies to all correspondence from Members of Parliament except that which concerns a Member personally as a consumer or producer of food. The reason for the general instruction is that Members of Parliament frequently raise questions involving wider considerations that would normally be within the cognisance of a food executive officer.
