§ Major Symondsasked the Minister of Works if he will state, showing dwelling-houses and other accommodation, separately, the total number of premises which have been requisitioned in the borough of Cambridge by his Department and by him on behalf of other Ministries; the numbers still under requisition, subdivided as to those occupied and those unoccupied; the periods for which the unoccupied premises have been standing empty and the dates on which they will be derequisitioned.
§ Mr. TomlinsonThe total number of properties in the borough of Cambridge requisitioned by the Ministry of Works for its own purposes and for other Ministries430W since 3rd September. 1939, is 65, sub-divided as follows:
(a) Dwelling houses 16 (b) Other accommodation 49 There are at present still under requisition 47 properties, subdivided as follows:
(a) Dwelling houses— (i) occupied 10 (ii) unoccupied 1 (b) Other accommodation— (i) occupied 29 (ii) unoccupied 7 Of the occupied dwelling houses, four are used as residential accommodation by officers of the National Fire Service; the unoccupied one, which has been vacant since November, 1945, is about to be occupied for a similar purpose.
Of the other seven unoccupied properties still under requisition five have been so since 31st January and two since the middle of February. These seven will be derequisitioned as soon as certain equipment has been removed.
