§ 161. Mrs. Ridealghasked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will authorise local fuel overseers to state the position of coal supplies in their own areas, in view of the fact that the maximum amount due to consumers often falls short of the allocation.
§ Mr. ShinwellThe notices which already appear in the local Press in every area emphasise the shortage of coal and that supplies have to be shared as fairly as possible. As the supply and stock position varies from week to week I do not think it advisable to attempt a more detailed statement of the position in each district.
