§ 84 Mr. Toucheasked the Minister ofSupply and of Aircraft Production if he is aware of the difficulty of obtaining wire netting in the Reigate Division of Surrey without a permit from the W.A.E.C; that such permits are only granted to commercial growers, with the result that many vegetables in private gardens are destroyed by pests; and if he will take steps to improve the supply of wire netting in the interests of food production.
§ Mr. WilmotThere is an overall shortage of supplies of wire netting due to the lack of skilled labour in the wire industry and to a shortage of raw materials. We290W are doing all we can to improve the position, and I am examining specially the needs of the small user.
