Colonel Stoddart-Scottasked the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Pro duction if he is aware that the M.A.P. bungalows at Horsforth are inferior and more expensive than local authority housing in the district; and, in view of the fact that the rents are out of line with similar accommodation elsewhere, if he will again review the position.
§ Mr. WilmotThese bungalows, which conform to wartime standards of construction, are not eligible for subsidy under the Housing Acts and the rents are in line with those charged for similar unsubsidised accommodation in the 291W district and elsewhere. The general question of the basis of assessment of rents for houses controlled by my Department is, however, under review and I will write to the hon. and gallant Member as soon as a decision is reached.
