§ 98. Lieut.-Colonel Bolesasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will now say what arrangements he has made to avoid the holding at the port of trade, shoe samples returned with orders from abroad; and what arrangements has he made to expedite the issue of an import licence when a sample contains only left-foot shoes.
§ Mr. BelcherTrade samples, whether of left-foot shoes or otherwise, are normally admitted without import licences, if the facts are established to the satisfaction of the Customs and the quantities are reasonable. In other cases, applications for import licences are considered on their merits and are dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
