§ 101. Colonel Errollasked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to stimulate the collection of domestic waste food by local authorities; and to secure its efficient utilisation.
§ Mr. BelcherThe local authorities of the most important areas are under direction to collect kitchen waste and to supply it to central concentrating or boiling plants which have been established, while other local authorities are urged to collect this waste to the fullest possible extent for supply to farmers. A broadcast appeal for increased collections was made by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture on 22nd February, and the question of further possible steps is under consideration.
