HC Deb 04 March 1946 vol 420 c1W
5. Mr. Jennings

asked the President of he Board of Trade if he is aware of the poor quality of the utility corset and that his is having a serious effect upon the health of many women who are unable to replace these articles even when they are in possession of a doctor's certificate; and if he will take steps to improve the quality and supply of corsets.

Sir S. Cripps

The doctor's certificates to which the hon. Member refers are applicable to surgical and not to utility corsets
