HC Deb 04 March 1946 vol 420 c2W
23. Mr. Anthony Nutting

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any conversations have taken place, and agreements been entered into, between His Majesty's Government and the Governments of France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway for the revival of mutual trade between Great Britain and those countries.

Sir S. Cripps

Though no trade agreements have been negotiated with these countries since their liberation, monetary agreements have been signed with all of them, and mutual trade has been resumed. With a view to the full development of such trade, close contact is maintained between my officials and the representatives of these countries.
