HC Deb 04 March 1946 vol 420 c15W
Mr. Palmer

asked the Minister of War Transport if he will consider the need for an improved train service on the District Railway between Earls Court and Wimbledon, particularly during off-peak periods.

Mr. Barnes

The frequency of trains on this service varies from five to seven minutes during peak periods, and from seven to 15 minutes during off-peak hours up to 9.15 p.m. After that time the frequency is20 minutes. I am informed that during peak periods the trains are well loaded, but are not inadequate, and that at other times the trains are adequate. Under present conditions increased frequency would not be justified.
